We can start at the beginning

It happens, your kid is having a kid. When did that happen? She's a grown-up, married person and having a baby. She lives pretty far away, but there's no doubt that you're going to be there. You're going to go there and be ready. You're going to go there and try to be helpful and say encouraging things. You'll be ready too. The hospital address will be in your phone. Then you wait. You shop, you cook, you clean a bit and walk the dog and wait.

It's wonderful to see your adult daughter and her husband and how they've prepared. The baby's room is ready. It's a boy and his monogram is painted white and mounted on the blue wall.

There's a library style bookshelf, a little train lamp and miniature cars displayed.

In the living room is a swing with fluffy blanket.

Now bring on the baby.

Right on schedule. Time to go. At the hospital, waiting begins while numerous members of the family arrive.

In the hospital room the kids are watching "The Office" and handling the process pretty well.

Late at night or early in the morning, depending on how you look at it, baby Henry arrives.

And there you are, you get a look at your grandson.

It's love at first sight.
